Anger turns to sadness,
Heat into icy cold,
Reddened face turns to reddened eyes,
As we watch the destruction unfold.



Someone once said that war is merely the failure of diplomacy. But isn't that just a sugar coating to the real truth. War is started when someone gets angry, started with "injustice", started with hatred. As years pass and the fighting continues the bright flash of anger in the heart begins to flicker and is soon left in smoldering embers quickly put out as we watch people die on both sides of the front and even those who had near no association with the war other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. At the beginning we call it justice, or revenge, or the will of some god, but in the end there is no word to describe it other than a mistake. Life, a small word for such a big thing, easily said, and just as easily taken away. But no one has the right to take such a beautiful thing as life away, especially for such a small reason as a disagreement or anger or disrespect and especially not for revenge. When a life is lost or two or three or even more, what balance is it to have that be a reason to make the same mistake those who first killed them did. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, is that the reason that the toll on the world multiplies each time people kill another.
